Handpan Workshop & Visit Information
At TAMARU, you can try many kinds of handpans from different makers and scales.
Beginners and people with no music experience are always welcome!
You can join alone or with friends — many people visit TAMARU from all over Japan.
If you’re not sure which handpan to buy, or just want to try playing one, please feel free to visit us.
Visiting the Studio
Reservation required
TAMARU is not a regular music shop that is open every day.
Please make sure to book your visit in advance.

“WS (Workshop)” refers to all sessions including trial lessons, tryouts, purchases, and lessons.

Even if you only visit the studio, a WS fee will apply because we provide professional guidance and individual explanations for each handpan.

“Trial WS / Practice Session” may include other participants.

“Private WS” is held individually (no other participants).

Types of Workshops
●○Handpan Trial Workshop○●
Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Fee: ¥3,000
Recommended for:
・Those who are curious about the handpan and want to try it for the first time
・Anyone thinking about buying a handpan but unsure which one to choose
・People who own one but don’t know how to make a good sound yet
・Complete beginners with no music experience (many participants are beginners!)
Level:
・Those who do not own a handpan yet or have never played
・Those who have one but are not confident about how to play it
●○Level-Up Practice Session○●
Time: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Fee: ¥3,000
Duration: 90 minutes
Recommended for:
・Those who want to learn new melodies or rhythms
・Those interested in how to compose original songs
・Those who want to improve their tone and touch
・Those who wish to join jam sessions with other players
Level requirement:
(You qualify if any of the following apply)
You can already make basic sounds on a handpan
You have attended at least one WS by TAMARU
(Even if your playing level is still beginner, that’s totally fine!)

Fee: ¥5,000 per person
Duration: 90 minutes
Available Times:
①10:00 – 11:30
②17:00 – 18:30
Details:
You can join alone, or with friends or family (small group welcome)
・Beginners are absolutely welcome!
・No prior music experience required
・You can learn not only playing techniques, rhythm, and composition, but also TAMARU-style recording methods, live performance setup tips, and more — feel free to ask anything!
